Marriage Covenant, Testament, Legal Document, Pledged Agreement
Marriage Covenant:
Marriage is Based in Covenant, FAMILY. When a man and woman marry, the
moment they say I do, Yahweh
stands as a witness to the marriage sealing it with the strongest
possible word: “Covenant” (Hebrew berit) “Covenant” speaks of
faithfulness and enduring commitment.
Ezekiel 16:8

Divorce is described as “Violence,” because it does violence to Yahweh’s
intention for marriage, to the mate to whom one has been joined, and
to the children of that union.
Prov. 2:17 even equates on who forsakes
their spouse with one who forgets Yahweh’s covenant. However, where
husband and wife abide in the commitment of their marriage vows, all
the power of a covenant-keeping God stands behind them and their
marriage.
Yahweh highly prizes and supports the concept of “covenant” commitment
because it is a picture of His love and faithfulness to us. To see the
nature of how He would have us apply this concept, study Yahweh’s first
covenant Gen. 6-9 as it records; the desire for a relationship Gen.
6:18; Gen. 9; 9; Gen. 9:11: the giving of a token sign to seal the
covenant Gen 9:12-13; and the eternal commitment of the covenant Gen.
9:16. Covenant is given as the guarantee of Yahweh’s unending fidelity,
and He calls us to the same truth and spirit of Love’s deepest meaning
Eph. 5:22-32/Gen. 2:24 Song 7:1-9
The
marriage covenant is commanded to be honored by all for
several reasons
Hebrews 13:4.
First the marriage covenant is
referred to as a covenant He (Yahweh) has created, formed and
fashioned between husband and wife Genesis
2:24. Second Yahweh the
covenant maker and keeper has personally witnessed the marriage
covenant between husband and wife Malachi
2:14. Third the
marriage covenant between a man and his wife is referred to as the
covenant between Yahshua the Messiah and His Church the called our
assembly
Ephesians 5: 22-33. Fourth
the marriage covenant relationship with our one flesh spouse is to be fulfilled
as Yahshua the Messiah does for the church His bride which He feeds and cares for
and lays down his life for (reconciliation and redemption)
Ephesians 5:31.
Fifth the God Head puts all their
power, authority, ability, provision, equipping and fullness in and
around the marriage covenant assuring it of success, compatibility,
fruitfulness, and the destiny of future descendants the inheritance of
the family Genesis 17:7.
Understanding Covenant:
A Covenant agreement is binding on all participating parties and at
the demand of any covenant agreement participant the other covenant
participants are required by agreement to give everything the parties in
need require. Also this works both ways for either participating party
who has needs, the other participating parties are obligated by
agreement to supply the
needs of their fellow covenant relationship partners.
Covenant promises go beyond the OT laws with all their rules,
regulations and demands or mans traditions. Yahweh sets in place the
boundary's of every covenant by His Word and His Spirit of Truth. Once a covenant is
established between Yahweh and Mankind, Yahweh puts everything He is and has
as a collateral pledge to fulfill His Promise to the covenant person
or persons. In other words Yahweh gives literal ownership of everything
He is and has to His covenant participants as long as they obey the
Covenant, IF YOU BELIEVE or THOSE WHO BELIEVE??? There are some words
we struggle to understand such as EVERLASTING, GRACE, MERCY, FAITH and
Yahweh'S LOVE??? Or as the Word of Yahweh says these three remain, FAITH,
HOPE and LOVE.
